Greetings West Region Members!  

The CSI WRC 2012 planning committee trusts your holidays are going well, and that you're anxious to hear more news about the upcoming Conference in April. The team is working diligently on the details and is happy to share some information that will help you in preparing for your attendence.   

  • Hayes Mansion is now taking room reservations, either online or by phone. A dedicated booking website has been created so you will be able to make, modify and cancel hotel reservations online, as well as take advantage of any room upgrades, amenities or other services offered by the hotel. A toll-free phone number is also available, if you prefer to make reservations over the phone, or if you need additional assistance with your reservation.Please note, in order to take advantage of the group rates you will need to make your reservations by March 25, 2012. Room rates are $149 per night.  
  • There are still opportunities for sponsorships, in exchange for some wonderful promotions for your company. Details are posted on the West Region website. For additional information please get in touch with the noted individuals:

  • The conference flyer will be made available by mid-January, both on the West Region website   and in the mail. A means is also being created that will allow you to register online. This service will also be made available by mid-January as well.

Don't forget, the conference date is April 26-29, 2012, and will be located at the Dolces Hayes Mansion in San Jose.

What’s in Store for the WRC 2012   

The CSI West Region 2012 Conference Committee is busy putting the finishing touches on the many activities that are planned.  Educational sessions on Friday include topics on commissioning, below grade waterproofing, and ADA.  There will also sessions on the state of the economy for California, Hawaii and Nevada and the latest and greatest on California’s high-speed rail system.  This year we’re also offering seminars that speak from the viewpoint of the construction industry.  Sessions on construction inspection and the impact of on-line plan rooms on the construction industry should prove to be very enlightening for all attendees. There will be a panel discussion on successful LEED documentation and record keeping, involving representatives from the entire design and construction communities. Finally, a senior Google representative will speak from the owner’s perspective on the challenges and successes in creating the healthiest work environment possible  

Besides a Product Show that stretches over Thursday and Friday, two outstanding keynote speakers on Friday and nearly 6 hours of West Region Leadership training and interaction on Saturday including a keynote breakfast talk by Walt Marlowe, Institute Executive Director. Saturday will also include the ever challenging traditional Chapter Challenge.  

Evenings will also be busy too with Hospitality Suites each late night, the themed dinner on Friday night and the final highlight of the conference, the Awards dinner and ceremony on Saturday evening.  For such a busy schedule the Hayes Mansion will be a perfect backdrop, for both supporting all of our conference needs and providing those little moments to get away and recover.
